Trouble Shooting - Culinary Heat Lamp

Your Culinary Heat Lamp does not turn ON when power button is pushed.

  1. Make sure the lower arm of your heat lamp is in its uppermost position. The lamp is equipped with a protective feature which prevents it from turning ON when the lower arm is below 30 degrees from vertical position. This feature prevents the unit from staying ON when the unit is in the stowed position. Make sure the lower arm of your heat lamp is in its uppermost position. Chl_safety_1
  2. Make sure the "Tilt Safety" switch (on the bottom of the heat lamp) is depressed properly. The lamp is equipped with a protective feature which interrupts power to the heating coil if the lamp is accidentally tipped over. Usually this is not a problem in normal operation, however, occasionally the lamp can be positioned in such a way that the tilt detection feature of the tilt switch activates and interrupts power from reaching the heat coil. If this occurs, it can be fixed by cycling the tilt switch in and out a couple times and then powering the lamp up. Chl_safety_2
  3. The lamp's thermal cut-off protective device may have been activated due to high temperatures caused by incorrect positioning. Unplug the lamp from the wall outlet and allow it to sit at room temperature conditions for 15 minutes then try to power the unit on again. If the lamp still doesn't turn on, try another electric outlet to be sure it is receiving power.
  4. If the unit persists to stay OFF, plug the unit into an outlet in a different room and try to power it ON or plug another device in that outlet to insure that power is being supplied. If your outlet works, the unit may be defective or the internal electrical fuse may have tripped. Please contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.
  5. If your outlet is not providing power, you should check the outlet's breaker circuit or contact an electrician that can help resolve the issue.

Smoke or burning smells are associated with the use of the Culinary Heat Lamp.

  1. Unplug unit from outlet. Sometimes dust particles from the shipping materials may be burned the first time the product is powered on after purchase. The smoke or smell should not last more than 60 seconds. If the unit continues to have this issue, please discontinue use and contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.
  2. If the unit has been in use –The user should look through the top vent of the unit to insure no foreign objects are present. If food or other objects have become lodged in this space, this could be the source of the smoke and smell. We do not recommend that the user cleans these parts as damage to the heating coils could present a hazard.

The Heat Lamp does not keep food warm enough.

  1. Carefully look at the coils on the lamp and confirm they are bright orange when operating. This indicates the lamp is heating up properly. Please note that the height of the lamp head with respect to the food being warmed will affect the food temperature. The starting temperature of the food will also affect its temperature while under the lamp. The lamp is not designed to heat foods from room or cold temperature to warm temperatures. The lamp is designed to keep hot foods warm.

The arm on the lamp is loose.

  1. The hinges may have loosened during shipping. This can be easily fixed by taking a large screw driver and using it to fit the slot on the side of the loose hinge and turning it clockwise to tighten it. Tighten and test the hinge to ensure it is not over tightened, and most importantly, that it consistently keeps the head of the lamp elevated in the desired position.
  2. One of the arms on the lamp may have come loose from the hinge allowing the arm to twist or come completely off the hinge. Unplug your lamp immediately and contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.

The heat lamp turns off when operating normally.

  1. If the head of the lamp is tilted in any direction, an over temperature protective device will be activated which will cause the unit to stop working. Confirm that the head of the unit is level with the ground when in use.
  2. If the lamp is being used normally, the lamp may be overheating due to environmental conditions. The lamp should operate normally at room temperature. Ensure there are no blockages on the top vent of the lamp and that it is being operated at a safe distance from walls, cabinets, food and any other surfaces or objects. If the issue persists, please contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.

Trouble Shooting - Heat & Dry Dish Rack

Your Heat & Dry Dish Rack is producing air, but the air is not heated.

  1. Confirm that the power button on your unit is lit. If your power button is blinking, your dish rack is running in a mode that does not use the heating function. Push the button again to turn the unit OFF. Once the power button is OFF, push the button again and be sure you hold it down for less than a second. Once turned on, confirm if the power button stays ON and does not blink. Hot air should be blowing through the main grill area. If you push the button for only one second and the power button is still blinking, please contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.
  2. If your power button remains illuminated after the drying cycle, the dish rack may be overheated which would cause the thermal cutoff protection feature to be activated. The unit needs to be unplugged and separated by at least 2 inches from any walls, surfaces or objects nearby. Let the unit sit for 15 minutes and try pushing the power button again. If issue persists, please contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.
  3. If power button does not illuminate when pressed on, the dish rack is operating in an unknown mode. The unit needs to be unplugged and separated by at least 2 inches from any walls, surfaces or objects nearby. Let the unit sit for 15 minutes and try pushing the power button again. If issue persists, please contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.

If the unit continues to have this issue, please contact the retail store from which the product was purchased for their refund and/or replacement policy.
  2. If the unit has been in use, you should look through the back inlet vent of the unit and make sure there are no foreign objects present. Dishes on the Heat & Dry Dish Rack are not completely dry after one cycle.

  1. Be sure to check air temperature while running. If air temperature is not hot and fan is blowing, make sure you haven't accidentally turned off the heating function.
  2. If your dish rack is blowing hot air and your dishes are not completely dry at the end of its cycle, your load may be very large and preventing air from flowing around every object evenly. Using cold water to wash or rinse your dishes can also affect the drying time.
